                                                                 Palace of Versailles


        The Palace of Versailles is the grandest and prettiest building standing in the city of Versailles. It is located southwest of Paris, France, about 20 kilometers away. The French Palace of Versailles is the largest and most luxurious palace and is a role model or pilot for some palaces in other countries. A Glimpse of the Palace of Versailles 💕

The beginning of the French Palace of Versailles was a small house built by King Louis XIII. This small house was founded in the middle of the countryside of Versailles. It was built with the aim of being a resting stopover when the king hunted around Versailles.

Eight years later, the layover was expanded. In 1664 – 1710, the house was expanded and enlarged to become a palace by Louis XIII's successor King Louis XIV.

During the reign of King Louis XVI, the palace was further embellished with classy furniture and furniture. King Louis VI had a wife named Marie Antoinette who was extraordinarily extravagant, glamorous, and loved luxury. Because King Louis XVI loved his wife so much, he did not hesitate to spend state money to fulfill his wife's wishes.

At the time, France was in financial difficulty. Economic conditions are poor and people are living in distress. Seeing the king and his wife's arrogance in squandering the country, the people grew increasingly angry.

They carried out a French revolution that ended in an arrest and the death penalty for Louis XVI and his wife. The Palace of Versailles of France was in a safe condition during the revolution. The people did not loot and steal luxury goods in this palace. However, a few moments later, all the palace's luxury goods were confiscated and auctioned to add to the state's coffers. The Palace of Versailles itself was turned into a museum that would later become the best museum of French art.


Inside the Palace 😍

Today, the Palace of Versailles of France is a tourist attraction that can be visited by anyone in the world. Some parts are still used for meetings of the French assembly and senate. If you want to visit this luxurious palace, it is best to get to know some of the interior and exterior of this palace because there are at least 2300 rooms. Among them are:

1.Grand Apartments
Grand apartments are located on the 2nd floor with two types of apartments namely the grand apartment of King and the grand apartment of Queen. The two apartments are located facing each other.

1.1.Grand Apartment of King
The room is divided into 7 rooms in which each room is dedicated to planets and stars. The names of the rooms in the grand apartment of King such as Salon de Diane, salon de Mars, salon de Mercure, and so on.

1.2.Grand Apartment of Queen
This room was occupied by at least three queens, Louis xiv's wife, Louis XV's wife, and Louis XVI's wife. This room consists of 7 rooms with the exact same design as the grand apartment of King. The room names are Chapel, Salle de gardes, antichambre, chambre, cabinet, grand cabinet, oratory, and petit cabinet.

Both the king and queen's apartments are both decorated with glitz and glamorous interiors. On the ceiling of the French Palace of Versailles, depicted tales of heroism that are as beautiful as the design of each room. This luxury really can't be expressed in words.

2.Hall of Mirrors
The Hall of Mirror is a very large hall. Inside it contains 17 wall mirrors reflecting the shadow of rows of large windows in front of it.

The hall is very classically designed and antique using the dominant colors of gold and brownish. The charming crystal chandeliers lined up neatly hanging along the hall of Mirrors further adding to the luxurious and glamorous aura of this room.

3.Chapel of Versailles
It is a church built by Louis XIV in 1689. The church has a cathedral-like design that was popular in medieval times with ornaments such as gargoule statues and taper roof shapes. The combination of gothic and baroque style in this part of the Palace of Versailles of France also colors this chapel dominated by white and golden colors.

4.Royal Opera
The Royal Opera is an opera house that is still often used for opera performances. The building can accommodate up to 700 people. The royal opera was built by Louis XV, and was first used for Louis XVI's wedding to Marie Antoinette. The building is dominated by pink, gold and green.

5.Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon
Inside the palace of Versailles, there are two small palaces located in the garden area. The two palaces are Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon. The Grand Trianon was built during louis XIV while Petit Trianon was built during the Time of Louis XV. The palace was built with the aim of providing privacy to the king where they could rest and regardless of formalities.

6.Garden of Versailles
The gardens of the French Palace of Versailles have an astonishing area of about 100 hectares. No wonder the Garden of Versailles is the largest palace garden in the world. In this park there are orangery buildings, fountains, ponds, canals, flower gardens with geometric patterns and so on.

7.Marie Antoinette Estate
In this building, you can visit several other parts of the building such as chapel, french pavillion, temple of love and many more.
